Economical Faux Wood Blinds

Faux Wood Blinds

Faux Wood Blinds are a popular choice for window coverings for many reasons. Starting at just $56 installed, they are a low-cost attractive window covering. Because of the composite material, they are extremely durable and can be easily cleaned. Functionally, they are extremely versatile. They can be raised allowing for full access to the window, tilted open for a full view outside, closed to give privacy or darken a room, and even half closed to allow for some light to enter a room and provide privacy.

When choosing an economical faux wood blind, quality does not have to be an issue. Listed below are some features to look for in a low-cost faux wood blind.

1. The valance is located at the top of a blind. The right valance can give your blind a very nice custom look. Valance returns should be present on most installations. These returns cover the metal blind hardware on the side of the window covering. Also, your valance should always have hidden clips. These clips hold the valance in place and should be installed behind the valance to give your blind a nice clean look. Below is a picture of valance returns with hidden clips.

2. Faux wood blinds should always operate smoothly. Tilting and raising the blind should not be a difficult task. When raised, the blind should also be level at the bottom.

3. When open or closed, your faux wood blind slats should be lined up, evenly spaced, and level throughout the entire blind.
